In early January, the Law Offices of Edmond J. Pryor secured a $270,000 settlement for a plaintiff who slipped and fell on ice in a parking lot at work. In this case, the Defendants were aware that ice had formed and created a dangerous condition in the parking lot where the Plaintiff worked. On January 2, 2011, President Obama signed the Zadroga Act that provided health monitoring and financial aid to 9/11 first responders and survivors. Many first responders and survivors of the 9/11 attacks developed illnesses as a result of their exposure to the toxins in the air surrounding the sites of the attacks. Additionally, anyone who worked, lived, or went to school in the area surrounding the World Trade Center could have been affected.
