In April 2021, Pryor Law recovered $250,000.00 for a Westchester Plaintiff who slipped and fell on snow and ice on the sidewalk of her apartment complex. It had snowed earlier on the day of her accident and the defendant housing complex allegedly sent workers to clear the snow from the sidewalks. The Pryor Law attorneys alleged that the workers did not adequately clear the snow and ice, leading to a dangerous condition of slippery snow and ice. The defendant claimed that it was not responsible when Plaintiff, who was bringing her groceries from her car to her apartment, slipped and fell on an ice patch. As a result of her fall, the Plaintiff sustained a fracture in her foot.

Pryor Law commenced an action in Westchester and litigated for several years and, during the course of the litigation, successfully opposed defendant’s motion to dismiss Plaintiff’s case. Pryor Law denied multiple insufficient settlement offers from defendant and litigated the case until it was ready for trial. In reaching the settlement, the Pryor Law attorneys uncovered compelling evidence that defendant’s employees failed to properly clear the ice and snow, making the sidewalk more dangerous than if they had done nothing. After mediation and extensive negotiations with defendant in the weeks following, Pryor Law was able to settle the case for an amount Plaintiff felt sufficiently compensated her for her injuries.
